Course Description

A one-day program (0.6 CEU) based on the 2021 International Residential Code®, assimilating the use and application of basic building planning requirements for wall, floor, ceiling, roof framing, and materials. In addition to the first 10 chapters of The Code, students will use a well-illustrated workbook that provides examples of common code situations with practical problem-solving applications. Instructors will emphasize intent and rationale while working with difficult or unusual field situations, assisting students in distinguishing alternatives that satisfy the overall objective.
