Course Description/Learning Objectives:
This two-day class (1.2 CEU) will outline when the IECC applies to a building and list mandated requirements, including the minimum building insulation requirements, calculate the minimum efficiency ratios for mechanical equipment, explain and list fenestration requirements based on designated climate zones, match any county in the country to the correct climate zone, and identify code compliant materials used in energy systems. The requirements for residential versus commercial systems will be discussed with active application of the code to plan review and inspections, including alternative methods.
Day one will focus on Residential application of the code, day two will focus on the Commercial applications.
