Understanding Fire Alarm Basics

This two-day course (1.2 CEU) describes and examines the requirements for a fire alarm system. Student will differentiate the types of fire alarm systems and when they are required. The function and use of the different fire alarm system components will be investigated, which includes; fire alarm control panel, initiating devices, and alarm notification appliances. Included in this survey will be determining how each component operates and how they work together to notify the building occupants of the emergency, as well as other related functions such as fan shut-downs and monitoring of systems and devices.
