Course Description: 

A two-day (1.2 CEU) course which identifies the basic requirements for a single-family electrical system based on the electrical chapters of the International Residential Code including electrical service, grouding, circuit requirements, receptacle locations and specific information on appliances; evaluates electrical wiring systems; and evaluates sizing feeders and service conductors, by utilizing information gleaned in overcurrent protection requirements and calculate conduit-fill and box-fill problems. 

Learning Objectives:  Students successfully completing International Residential Code- Electrical will:

• Identify the basic requirements for a single-family electrical system based on the electrical chapters of the International Residential Code including electrical service, grounding, circuit requirements, receptacle locations and specific information on appliances.
• Recognize and relate electrical wiring systems.
• Compute service calculations, size feeders and service conductors.
• Discuss and interpret overcurrent protection requirements in an effort to solve conduit-fill and box-fill problems.
