Illinois Plumbing License Test Preparation Workshop
Location: BFCA
Type: Instructor Led Classroom Training
Location: On-Site at BFCA
The Building & Fire Code Academy has developed the first one-day Illinois Plumbing License Test Preparation Workshop to help you enter the highly respected profession of licensed plumbers. On the day of the workshop, highly qualified licensed plumbers (instructors) will take you through a practice test that simulates the actual test experience, including timely submission of the correct paperwork, preparing for the test and all of the steps leading up to the actual testing event.
In duplication of the state test procedures, doors will open promptly at 7 am. The five-hour test window begins immediately. In groups, candidates will work on separate test areas corresponding to one of the three test sections. As much as any other element of the test, discipline in the use of time is critical to success.
During the practice test, coaching is prohibited, just as it is during the actual license examination, although procedural questions are answered and safety issues are addressed as needed. The written test includes 50 multiple choice and True/False questions covering the Illinois License Law and State code sections. All aspects of the industry, including commercial, residential, industrial and institutional plumbing are subject to be tested.
On the drawing test, candidates must draw complete waste and vent systems for a four-story, mixed use building.
The practical third of the test requires the correct assembly of cast iron, plastic and copper piping to specific design dimensions.
A critique is scheduled from 12:30 - 1:30 pm.
