Description:
The Plumbing Apprentice Education Program (PAEP) is a four year, 15 week multiple-term educational program structured to supplement an apprentice plumber’s on-the-job training. The Plumbing Apprenticeship Education Program course of study includes:
State of Illinois License Law, State of Illinois Plumbing Code, Practical Application of Codes and Standards, Blueprint Reading and Drawing, Construction Document Production and Permits, Hydrodynamic Theory, First Aid and Safety Procedures, Hands-on Shop Instruction and Practical Assembly Techniques, Industry Updates – Techniques and Materials, Construction and Plumbing Mathematics and Geometry, and Illinois Plumbing License Examination Preparation.
The apprentice students’ learning experience will be enhanced by the real-life knowledge and experience that BFCA instructors bring to the academic and practical instruction sessions.
The cost of the program (per term) is $650 for returning apprentice students and $725 for new apprentice students which includes a one-time fee of $75 for the required course workbook that is used over the course of the four years. Each student is also required to bring a copy of the Illinois State Plumbing Code (2014) to class.
Students must successfully obtain apprenticeships with licensed plumbing contractors before participating in any Illinois Apprenticeship Program.
